Classics Revisited: Nike Air Tech Challenge Future – 1993
Sneaker News - Air Jordan, Air Force 1, Air Max, Nike SB, Release Dates & more 3 Sep 2010, 2:00 am CEST

The 2010 U.S. Open in Flushing, NY began not long ago, so in keeping with topical sports news, this week’s Sneaker News Classics Revisited features the Nike Air Tech Challenge Future of 1993. Back in the early 90’s the sport of tennis was electrified by Andre Agassi, who stuck out like a sore thumb with his long wavy locks, bright tennis gear, and of course, his Nikes. The Nike Air Tech Challenge series featured a number of tennis-court specific designs, with a Mid cut, visible Air cushioning, and most notably its super-bright colorblocking, but the Air Tech Challenge Future was a clear aberration to the historic tennis/trainer line as it veered toward Huarache styling – perhaps an explanation of the inclusion of ‘Future’ in the name. To check out a great gallery of this rare and vintage pair of Nike classics, head on over to Sneaker News HD for the entire Classics Revisited feature.

Sneaker News - Air Jordan, Air Force 1, Air Max, Nike SB, Release Dates & more 3 Sep 2010, 1:00 am CEST

Last week, Sneaker News reported info on the pre-order of the Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Pearl’, so many of our readers were fortunate enough to guarantee themselves a pair of this highly anticipated Nike basketball retro. The Pearl Foams has seen a clear change from the original that Ray Allen rocked in ‘He Got Game’; at first, the ‘Pearl’ upper was a milky white, but the 2010 version features more of a champagne tone. Not worth a complaint, because the color flat out works. If you were unable to get your hands on a reservation, the Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Pearl’ will release tomorrow, September 3rd, at Nike Basketball retailers like Niketown, House of Hoops, as well as a midnight release at Footaction on 34th St. in Midtown, Manhattan. Be sure to get in line for a pair, or avoid the hassle altogether and snag on now from 95soleman on eBay.

Sneaker News - Air Jordan, Air Force 1, Air Max, Nike SB, Release Dates & more 3 Sep 2010, 12:00 am CEST

Although it isn’t an Olympic year, we’ve seen some Jordan releases with the five-rings colorway from the international sporting event. The Jordan Flight 9 dropped in a multi-colored rendition as did the Jordan Rare Air, and we can’t forget the Air Jordan VII Olympic Retro as well. Here’s another look at the Air Jordan 1 Phat Low in a black nubuck upper with a glossy faux-croc-skin swoosh and multi-colored contrast stitching. These are available over at Schuh-You, but you can pick up a fresh pair right now in men’s or GS sizes on eBay.

Did you pick up a pair of the Nike Air Trainer Max ‘91 2010 Retro? The OG Grey/Yellow pair re-released not long ago in a wide release and although it can be argued that these aren’t the most popular of the Nike Air Trainers of the Cross-Trainer era, the Trainer Max ‘91 is certainly an honored classic. Here’s the return of another OG colorway – the black/white “Raiders” colorway. The upper features black on the nubuck upper as well as the neoprene tongue and achilles padding with white on the swoosh, heel, and outsole traction. These just released at Eastbay so continue reading for a closer look at this Trainer Retro and let us know which re-released colorway you like the best.

The Nike Blazer is an icon of 20th century design, a sneaker among the handful of looks you could say truly defined an entire era. These three new Blazers aren’t your typical pack of sneakers, though it’s clear they share a common bond. It’s not a palette or colorblocking pattern, but rather the curiously embroidered tongue tags. One of them reads ‘Nike Sportswear’. Another, ‘Nike Force’, which makes sense if it’s a tad misplaced. But the last one, ‘Nike I95 DMV NY’ is a callout to the highway that connects the eastern seaboard, and leaves us guessing what the inspiration for this trio may have been. No matter the muse, they’re set to release next month and you can pre-order yours now from CrookedTongues.

Nike Blazer High – Black – Clear Swoosh – Handprint
Sneaker News - Air Jordan, Air Force 1, Air Max, Nike SB, Release Dates & more 2 Sep 2010, 10:00 pm CEST

NIKEiD is a great platform for customizing your favorite Swoosh sneakers, but there’s more than one way to get a fingerprint on your kicks. This new Nike Blazer High comes in all black nubuck, but with a one-of-a-kind look thanks to a handprint graphic on both side panels. It’s a dark shade of grey that shows through the highly translucent Swooshes, which makes a greater case for comparing these to the x-ray Blazer ACG that hit retailers a little while back. Have a closer look at these new joints by clicking the jump below and stick with Sneaker News for updates; LTD Online has them in Japan, but also states they’ll be a House of Hoops exclusive here in the US.

Air Jordan 2010 ‘Silver Anniversary’ – November 2010
Sneaker News - Air Jordan, Air Force 1, Air Max, Nike SB, Release Dates & more 2 Sep 2010, 9:30 pm CEST

Atmos set New York on fire last month with their ‘For the Love of the Game’ Air Jordan Legacy display, but uniformly colored collections of Jays 1-2010 started back in February with the white-on-white 25th Anniversary collection. An all-white Air Jordan 2010 from that bunch was released at retail, but they were quite hard to get as Quickstrikes. There was also a Silver Anniversary AJ2010, given as a PE to Jordan Brand universities UNC, Cal and Georgetown. A pair very similar to those (also similar to the Dwyane Wade ASG PE) will also touch down as a QS drop, scheduled for November 2010. Click the jump below to see more shots and stick with Sneaker News for the exact release date.

Nike Air Force 1 Low – Gorge Green – White | Available
Sneaker News - Air Jordan, Air Force 1, Air Max, Nike SB, Release Dates & more 2 Sep 2010, 9:00 pm CEST

Packs of sneakers carrying similar themes and/or colorways are usually released on the same day, or at least around the same time. But with the motif common to this new Nike Air Force 1 Low and two others, Nike Sportswear has stretched the drops over nearly half a year. Starting back with a Team Red pair back in April, the patent toe/perfed side and rear combo popped up again in August, this time flipped, in black with red accents. This newest pair has a nearly-Gucci look to it, with white and red coming in on the midsole to contrast the tonal green uppers. Check out more shots after the jump, and look for these at NSW retailers like Extra Butter or get your pair on eBay.
